Cupid Last Wish, Chapter 1

    Chapter 1:

That day... The rain was heavy... the once in a decade type…

The Meteorological Department declared the strongest storm in years, it battered all the eastern provinces. The vast territory of the storm, which made him look only dazzling in every direction because of the endless raindrops, the gusts of wind swept so hard that the trees were still swaying as if they had no roots attached to them. The loud noise of thunder and lightning made the atmosphere worse.

... Especially... the atmosphere in the Warodom house...

“I won’t allow Lin to marry Tha!!!” A voice resounded throughout the living room of a two-story wooden house in the middle of Warodom ranch. Lightning flashed outside of the tall, visible glass but the raindrops appeared behind a tall man with a terrifying face like a storm.

A slender face with the same outline as the other two women in the room, yet the masculine valor and strength were still evident in the sharp eyes and dark brows that draped above, which were now almost furrowed. The same heel, a protruding nose, would have been better suited to thin lips if it weren’t for the owner now gnashing his lips terribly.

“But on this matter, I have decided.” The mother’s thin late-skinned woman said in a flat tone, as if confirming against the eldest son’s storm but the storm was a storm... There is no day to reduce your elbow...

   “But I refuse!!!!”

“Win…” The mother softly called out her son’s name with regret that the hatred had nurtured in her son’s heart.

... Everything is her fault... It was her fault that Sawin hated Thapakorn so much…

“I can’t hear you mom!! No matter what, I won’t let Lin marry that bastard!!!!”

“Win... about that... uh…” Phonuma wanted to explain but because the time had passed so long, she didn’t dare to speak up. In the end, it turns out to talk about her daughter instead, “…Win... Lin and Tha love each other, son... Isn’t that true, Lin?” Phonuma turned to ask her daughter who was sitting next to her. Lalin glanced at her brother for a moment before shortly replying.

   “true.”

“Lalin!!!!” Sawin shouted loudly but the younger sister sat back with a stiff neck not backing down.

“Phii Win, whatever you say but I will marry Phii Tha, Phii Tha will marry me!” The only sister Sawin entrusted both love and hope to destroy every feeling until the anger in the older brother’s chest rose to a tight throat. In his mind, there were scorching flames and screams that he would never take ‘Tha’ as his brother-in-law!!!!

Sawin pulled her sister’s little arm up from the sofa, the girl panicked following her brother’s surge in panic.

“Phii Win, what are you going to do?!!!”

“No matter what, you will marry Tha, right?! good!!! I’ll take you to meet that bastard!! I’ll let you know that the man you’re going to marry is worse than evil!!! He hopes to take everything from us!!! and that he will marry you because he wants everything that is Warodom!!! Lin, did you hear that he married you because of our inheritance!!! He doesn’t love Lin!!!!”

A small palm smashed against the elder brother’s cheek with a big flash of thunder along with the sound of huge lightning strikes.

The room was silent, even Phonuma was startled in shock, Lalin was suddenly halted. She looked down at her hand that had just slapped her elder on the face a moment ago. Guilt, numbness and confusion swirled in his head. Since birth, Lalin has never hurt anyone and especially with her older brother, Sawin, who has done everything for her and she never thought that she would dare to take action with him.

Sawin turned around and looked at his sister, the pain in his body was not equal to the pain in his heart. Lalin who used to love always respected him, now dare to even slap him in the face to protect the bad guy like ‘Tha’?!!!!

The young man grabbed his sister’s little arm and thrusted it out, Lalin was shocked until she screamed but the elder turned around and shouted as loud as lightning.

“Come here!!!” Sawin grabbed a small arm to pull follow him. Phonuma hurriedly intervened in the same shock.

“Win, where are you taking your sister?!!”

“I will take her to meet Tha!”

“If you go now, then you will quarrel…” The mother tried to compromise but the son didn’t listen any more.

“If Lin getting married is your decision, then this is my decision too!! Mother, you have no right to stop it!!” The only son of Phonuma has always been hot-headed and the more he gets angry, the hotter it gets.

The mother’s slack hand hurriedly grabbed Sawin’s arm anxiously.

“Win, you can’t go, Tha is in Bangkok right now, you can see that the storm is coming in like this. Tomorrow morning, I’ll call Tha so he can come talk here.”

Lightning strikes crack in the sky! At the same time Sawin’s mood broke through his mother’s words.

“I will never let him step on here!!!!!” Phonuma paled at her son’s emotions. Sawin seized the opportunity when her mother stood still in shock and immediately snatched her sister’s arm through the heavy raindrops into her own pickup truck.

Lalin’s screams rang out but... It wasn’t loud enough for the torrential downpour that only blurry images could be seen. Phonuma saw only the bright lights from the rear of her car in the rain before her son’s pickup van ran out of the house.

   …

Inside the car there was no conversation between the two siblings that were once in love with each other but today I chose one, while you… choose the opposite.

The more Sawin thought, the angrier he became, he pressed the accelerator almost completely in the midst of the heavy rain that opened his eyes until the glass wipers could barely work. Sawin relied on his frantic temper, stepping on the accelerator revving the pickup truck soaring on a two-lane road that would take him onto the Bangkok-Chonburi motorway.

He will take Lalin to meet that bastard!! Lalin must have seen the true nature of his bastard until he had prayed three times after his meal for him to die! And of course, from now on he will pray before and after the meal, a person like him must die before entering his house as, ‘brother-in-law’!!!!

Sawin slammed his fist against the steering wheel in frustration as his foot hit the accelerator until the needle in the dashboard moved to 160km/h. Lalin glanced at her elder brother’s emotions in fear.

After the death of her father, Sawin came up to take charge of everything in the family’s small ranch, working for her to study and taking care of her mother. He is her everything. He used to give love, warmth, used to give advice, was the elder who protected her and the family. She knew he was impatient but he was never so bad-tempered.

The sister’s little white hand gently touched her brother’s arm.

“Phii Win... Drive slowly, I’m afraid.” Her voice trembled, as if pulling the listener’s consciousness out of the dark whirlpool of his mind. Sawin glanced back, didn’t say anything but seconds later two lights flashed into the car. The startled young man hurriedly turned around to the light but could only widen his eyes in shock as a large truck from the other lane sped towards him in a few steps.

A loud horn honked with the sound of wheels smashing against the road before Sawin’s pick-up truck swerved into the side of the road and crashed into a big tree with the sound of thunder!!

Then everything calmed down... There was no sound other than the sound of rain still pouring down on the wrecked truck.

... Everything perishes in the blink of an eye…

   ………

The raindrops have faded a lot after a heavy rain all night. An old monk who is the abbot of a forest temple, hidden peacefully in a remote area, strode towards the window of the cloister, which had been closed last night because of the rain.

A wrinkled hand slowly pushed open the wooden window before the cloister’s owner saw a faint shadow of someone standing outside among the raindrops and the gloom of past 3:00 AM. His eyes wrinkled slightly to focus on the chubby figure standing under the eaves.

“Benefactor…” The abbot greeted and only then, the chubby figure turned around, causing the person to freeze slightly when he saw who the night visitor was.

    “Benefactor Amon...”

“Hello, Reverend Father.” The chubby man raised his hand in salutation and his voice wheezed but no matter how loud the rustling sound, the old monk standing in the cloister could clearly hear the other party’s voice.

“Why are you standing here? Why don’t you come here on the cloister?”

“I can’t go there.” replied the same man, the old monk gave him a small smile before replying.

“If so I will come down to you.” So, the old reverend said, before pulling away from the window and opening the door, he stumbled down three or four low wooden steps to stand on the ground. The chubby man walked over and fell to his knees at his feet and put his hands down to prostrate himself.

“I have something to ask for your help Reverend Father, my son and daughter got into an accident. They are now at the hospital.”

“Benefactor Amon... Even though we were born, when we were no longer on this earth we have to let go and not get ourselves involved with the livings”

“I know, Reverend Uncle, that’s why I have to let everything happen. The life and death of the child. I can’t determine but... The matter that has occurred must be resolved.”

“Would you like me to help you?”

“Yes... they need Reverend Uncle’s help.” The old Reverend Father let out a small sigh of relief before giving him a small nod. The man in front of him gave a blissful smile, he bowed down at his feet once more before the chubby figure faded into the air. All that’s left is the faint murmur of the rain.

    “Thank you, Reverend Father.”

   ……

... Pain... Pain all over my body...

He tried to move his limbs but... Just a slight movement felt a sharp pain in his bones. Worse still is a headache. His head hurts like it’s about to explode... This is where he heard his sister complain about migraines. It must be like this…

“... L... Lin... Can you hear me mama…?” A languid voice rang in his ears. He wants to say that he hears, he hears... Mom is calling...

“... Li... Lin... Open your eyes, my child, you are still here...” Mother’s voice cried, he heard it, he heard it... Mother is crying…

A high-pitched sobbing sound stirred up, no matter how much his head and body aches and pains he tried… He tried to…

“Lin! Lin has recovered!! Lin!!!” The sight in front of him was so blurry but when he closed his eyes and slowly opened his eyes again, he could see his mother’s face. even if it fades a bit.

“Mom…” His voice was so hoarse that it didn’t sound like his own but he tried to call the woman in front of him with all his consciousness.

“Mom is here, Lin, Lin, it’s okay baby.” His mother’s hand squeezed his hand tightly. He heard his mother sobbing and the sound of footsteps. In an instant, he saw a late-aged man in medical clothes leaning forward to look at him, inspecting it, examining this for a moment and then he went to talk to someone in the room.

He closed his eyes again tiredly. His mother’s hand still gripped him tightly. He was so warm that he felt so good that he was relieved. He fell asleep again without even thinking about what was happening around him.

   ……

‘Phii Win... Please help Lin... ‘

A faintly sweet voice mixed with a terrified trembling voice made Sawin furrowed his brows tightly. He looked left and right but everything was as dark as a dream.

   ... Is he dreaming? He’s dreaming…

‘Phii Win, help me… whatever you want, help me.’

Sawin wanted to shout and ask where Lalin was in the dark where he couldn’t see anything at all but when he opened his mouth to make a sound, no sound came out. He raised his hand and touched his throat but was stunned that there was no bulging Adam’s apple.

‘Phii Win... Don’t leave me, help me.’ Lalin’s voice rang again but this time it was as faint as she was from afar. Sawin’s eyes widened in shock and fear. He was only trying to shout at his sister but… no sound escaped from his throat.

... There was no sound at all, in the midst of the darkness he could not see anyone…

... can’t see... not even himself...

   ……

He woke up again with a trembling fear of his sister’s cry. When he opened his eyes to look around he realized he was in the hospital room. He heard the sound of water flowing from the bathroom. Who’s still in there? Maybe his mother because he didn’t see anyone in his room.

...Then...then why is he here? ...

... Yes, it rained before... It was a stormy day and he was so furious that he rushed out of the house with… Along with Lin... Yes!! How about her?!!!

‘Phii Win... Help me please...’ Her sister’s voice was still ringing in her head. Lalin has been crying for help...And where is Lalin now? His last memory was he was driving fast in heavy rain, there was a sister sitting beside him and a truck came and hit the side of the road and then... and hit a tree! And...and just now he had a dream that Lalin came to ask for help... Or... or... his sister will...

   “Lin, you awake child? …”

His mother’s voice rang out, causing him to immediately turn around to look at the source of the voice. Her lips were moving open to speak but Phonuma swooped in at the bedside with questions cutting off in front of him.

“Lin, how are you? Where does it hurt, child? Are you hungry? Drink some water.”

... Lin? ... Lin?! Why did she call him Lin?! He is Win! His name is Sawin!!!

As fast as his thoughts, he hurriedly looked down at his chest. He swelled up so slightly that he was still devastated. However, he still dared to open his collar and look and his eyes suddenly widened in shock.

... Breasts!!! Why does he have breasts?!!!

Sawin reached under his pants and was even more devastated when what he had had was gone.

... Hey!!! What happened to me!!!

“Lin, what’s going on?” Phonuma saw her child acting strangely and cried out in shock but the patient had no answer except raised his wrist to look at the name tag on it.

   ‘Lalin Warodom’

... Lalin Warodom!!! Why is Lalin’s name on his wrist!! No! He remembered that there was a mole on the back of Lalin’s hand and that mole was on this hand!!! He has breasts like Lalin has while he doesn’t have a cock like Lalin doesn’t!!!

... Really!! In his dream, he remembered that he had put his hands on his neck…but there was no Adam’s apple on his neck!!!

….

…this is what happened!! Did he become a woman?!!And why did he become a woman?! No!! On the wrist he gave him the name ‘Lalin Warodom’ and his mother called him ‘Lin’, meaning he was not Sawin who became a woman...but Sawin who became Lalin!!! Why did he become ‘Lalin’!!And where is ‘Sawin’ body?!!!

“Lin... Lin, did you hear your mother? Lin...” Phonuma saw the child’s face turn pale, shouted more and more in shock, was about to turn to call for a nurse but the child’s hand tightened her grip.

“Mom...then...then Win…” He asked in a panicked tone, Sawin is a new era person who lives with technology and globalization but the topic of ghost and spirit matters have been ingrained with Thai society for a long time. He himself believed in ghosts because he was afraid of ghosts going up in his head and if he was not mistaken. The thing that happened to him right now was probably related to ghosts and spirits... Related to body swap... related to... with something that science cannot prove!!!

If at the time of the accident, something brought him into the body of his sister. His spirit is here... What about Lalin’s soul? Or will Lalin be in his body? ...

Phonuma was silent for a moment before answering in a hushed tone.

    “Win is in another room”

   “... is he awake yet…”

“... not yet.” Sawin was stumped upon hearing that answer.

What do you mean ... He’s in the body of his sister, what about his sister? Where did Lalin go, why didn’t she resurrect her body, at least he would be comfortable that Lalin would still be…

Sawin was terribly worried and remembered the dream he had heard but his sister’s cry urged him to help. He was even more worried. Where will Lalin be now? How will Lalin be and how will Lalin come back!!

“Lin... Lin... Don’t be silent, child... Child, what is it…” Phonuma almost cried once more as the child froze, eyes widening as if unconscious. She turned left and right to find a nurse call button, just as the door of the room was opened by an honored guest.

    “Aunt Phon... Hello.”

The owner of the voice was a tall and tall young man with a solemn face and dark tanned skin, his fierce eyes showing a gentle glint as he turned to salute Phonuma. A ridged nose and deep serrated lips adorned a small smile that made it look like a giant majestic and majestic but friendly and inviting. A tall figure stepped into the room as Phonuma immediately swooped over to the visitor as if in need of refuge but for some... Even if she hadn’t seen this guy’s face for many years, even if he hadn’t heard it for a long time, his face, his name, his everything. He still remembers them all!!!

... Thapakorn!!! The bastard and the wicked and most importantly... Because of him, he dragged Lin into the car and drove out of the ranch even though it was raining heavily! Because of him!! He made him and his sister like this!!!

“Ai’Tha!!!” The figure on the bed shouted in a hoarse voice. Phonuma was terrified that she would get out of bed intending to attack herself, so she had to rush back to hold her body.

“Lin! What are you going to do, child!! Lin!!” The old woman’s voice didn’t awaken the person who was about to go on a rampage. Thapakorn was stunned in shock because the Lalin he knew would never have acted to hurt him like this. Wherever she calls him ‘Ai’Tha’ too... The person calling him like this is not Lalin but Sawin!!

“You! Bitch!! All this happened because of you alone!! because of you!! I will kill you!!!” Both the words and the sight that the girl in the patient gown had on him was full of vendetta. Khun Phonuma was shocked by her daughter’s words that she tried to hold her body but for the newly awakened man seemed to have dug up so much strength that she could hardly contain it, so she hurriedly told the young man.

“Tha, Tha, go see the doctor for me!! Tell the doctor that Lin has recovered.”

“Yes, Aunt Phon.” The tall figure accepted the senior lady before glancing at the person on the bed again in amazement, then hurriedly left the room but still heard the curse sound from the people in the room following him.”

“You go!! Go to hell where you are!! You don’t have to come back and show me your face!!!”

... The Lalin he knew wasn’t like this... Thapakorn glanced back at the person in the patient gown through the crack between the closing door. The eyes of the woman who agreed to be engaged to him were not like the former Lalin.

... Hey, what’s going on... What happened to Lalin? ...

Behind the closed door, the rampant a moment ago was still gasping for fury. Phonuma looked at her daughter who was standing still in shock before deciding to ask.

“Lin? Lin what’s wrong, why are you calling Tha like that? Tha is going to marry you.”

Sawin in Lalin’s body suddenly froze.

   ... What?!!Marriage!

... Damn!!! He was so frightened by the supernatural that he forgot to think that besides he had already received Lalin’s body, the other thing that was to come with him was his future fiancé!!

“Lin... child, what else is going on! Lin!!? Why are you stunned like that!!” No matter how much Phonuma shook her arm, it seemed like the newly recovered patient was standing there in shock. Now, in Sawin’s head, there was only one voice that reverberated back and forth until it was almost unbearable. I heard my mother’s call.

...get married...get married...get married!! Get married to Thapakorn, that bastard?!

... There will never be a day!!!

   …

    “Tha?”

A voice called behind a tall young man standing in front of the nurse’s counter. After informing the patient named Lalin Warodom had woken up, Thapakorn turned to follow the call before giving a slight smile to the young doctor of the same age.

“Is Lin awake? I saw a nurse call me to tell me. Here, the doctor is coming.” Chanonn is a doctor at a major hospital in Chonburi which is his hometown. As a child he was always mischievous with Thapakorn and Sawin until they got wounds so the doctors at this hospital helped treating their wounds many times which led to familiarity between them and right now the young man was so familiar to Dr. Prakop, who was the oldest doctor here, until they called him ‘Uncle Doctor’ as if they were relatives.

“Oh, he’s awake.” Thapakorn simply replied, refusing to mention the massive rampage that the person had just resurrected against him like those who had hated him for many years. The young man contemplated the strange way Lalin treated him, the way of addressing and the eyes that were used on him were not like the original Lalin. Lalin, the same person who called him sweetly, looked at him with gentle eyes and kind manner as he still decided to marry her even though he knew that neither he nor she loved each other. After getting married, I have to go to meet Lalin’s older brother who doesn’t like him anymore.

   ... Lalin’s elder brother, is that so…

…Yes… The eyes Lalin used to look at him just now, is like how Sawin looked at him!

“Two siblings, were they born with steel bones? The wrecked car looks like a mangled steel thing after 32 flips, it’s a merit they got out of it relative intact.” Chanonn implied but he sounded a little worried about the condition of the elder still in the ICU.

“So... how is Win?” Thapakorn’s question made Chanonn turn around and look at the questioner with big eyes until the person being stared had to come out of his mouth to explain why he would worry about a person who hated him.

“I never had anything owed to him but he had a fight with me.” The audience laughed a little at the heat of his childhood friend before jokingly patting Thapakorn on the shoulder.

“But in this event, I assure you that he won’t be able to fight with you for a long time.”

“Is he sick?” When the question came here Channon, who was always playful, let out a huge sigh of relief.

“He has bleeding in the brain, two broken ribs, a fractured arm bone, ah... Compared to the crumpled condition of the car, it is unbelievable that he is still breathing.” Chanonn could see his friend being silent but pat on the shoulder He knew that the relationship between the two of his friends had been inconsistent for many years but still he could see the devastating feeling of knowing the other person who had seen each other as a child was lying in the ICU, full of rubber bands without knowing when he will recover.

“Let’s go find Lin, the doctor is here.” Chanonn said as he saw the hospital’s late-year-old man walking towards them. Thapakorn looked at him before raising his hand to pay homage, the accompanying doctor gave a tender smile to the tall young man he had seen since he was a small child.

“Have these three of you guys been friends since childhood? When you were little, you were all so short.” Dr. Prakop looked at the height of his two childhood friends and thought of the person who was still in the ICU. If you can stand up and compare his height is not inferior to Chanonn and Thapakorn.

“Oh doctor, can you stop talking about when we were young? I’m so grown up that I forget what I looked like when I was a kid.” Chanonn hurriedly interjected before the old man could recall the heroic deeds of the three little ones. Especially Sawin, no matter what he does, he has to give him an assist every time when there is something... It’s an assistant named Chanonn who is always in luck.

Dr. Prakop laughed hysterically before turning to the two or three young nurses at the counter.

“If I’m free, I will tell the story of Dr. Chanonn falling down a tree because his best friend told him to go up and take a peek at the house maid next door who was taking a shower.”

The nurse’s shrill laughter rang out softly, as Dr. Prakop dropped a bomb before walking towards Lalin’s recovery room causing Chanonn to hurriedly deny the fact that the old doctor had released the news, Thapakorn looked at his best friend flirting with the young nurse and laughed lightly and reflected on the heroism of Chanonn’s best friend.

   ... Sawin...

When he thought of Sawin the young man recalled the sight Lalin had used to look at him. He’s like Sawin, like he’s the same person but... It’s impossible... Yes. He is impossible. The one who woke up was Lalin. While Sawin is still in the ICU.

“Tha, what is it?” Chanonn’s voice awakened, causing the young man to turn around and shake his head in denial.

“Nothing, let’s go see Lin.” he said, cutting off the talk, keeping the doubts in his mind alone, before walking towards Lalin Warodom’s incubation room.

   …

   Lalin Warodom still ignored him.

Thapakorn noticed the condition of the person in the bed who hardly looked at him at all, or if he accidentally turned to see him. The gaze Lalin had for him would turn into a vengeful gaze, as if angering him for years.

... In spite of that, both he and Lalin had such a good relationship that they even plan to get married!

“Is there a place hurting? No pain? Where is it Lin?” Dr. Prakop checked the general condition and asked kindly because he had seen both Sawin and Lalin since childhood. Today when the second Warodom sibling was admitted to the hospital due to a serious accident, Dr. Prakop had to come down to take care of this case on his own.

“No... Yes...” the person on the bed stammered.

“Aunt Phon, what brand of cereal does Lin and Win eat? They’re all steel bones.” said Chanonn, who was in the room, joking as usual as he didn’t want Phonuma to grieve over her oldest son’s condition.

“Hey? You a-hole, you and I have eaten together since we were young, didn’t we?” The voice from the figure on the bed interrupted as if he was a familiar person of a close friend, Chanonn, his best friend. The entire room was slightly stunned at the words of the patient who, by age, was five years younger than Chanonn. Over and over, Little Lin always respected and honored Chanonn as if he was a brother and not a close friend.

“Uh... uh... I saw... I saw... Phii Nonn... He has eaten with Phii Win since childhood…” It seemed that the person in the bed started to notice the strange eyes that the people around him were staring at, and had to rephrase his own words.

“That... That’s it! Nong Lin... This is a really good memory, it shows that your brain is still as sharp as ever! Aunt Phon, don’t worry about Nong Lin! Isn’t it true, Doctor Uncle?” Chanonn erupted with a good-hearted laugh before turning to Dr. Prakop, the doctor in charge of the fever.

“Well, you can leave the hospital in a few days.” Lalin’s condition Warodom only had body bruises from impact, bruises from seat belts, minor splintering of glass and broken eyebrows, which, if you look at the condition of the car, is a miracle.

“And Win…” The figure on the bed suddenly asked out of curiosity. Dr. Prakop was silent for a bit before giving a faint smile.

“Lin’s brother is currently fighting vigorously, he is a brave man from childhood. I believe that he will recover soon.” The person listened and shouted to the Doctor Uncle that it was his name, Sawin!! He was the one who woke up! But the one who hadn’t woken up was Lalin! His sister, he doesn’t know where she is now!!!

A white hand gripped Dr. Prakop’s sleeve tightly.

“Help... Save Win.” he said painfully, even if he was in Lalin’s body but Lalin had to return! He won’t lose Lalin. Lalin was his only sister and his only love. He won’t let Lalin be anything…

“I will help fully. Lin, don’t worry.” Dr. Prakop gently clapped his white hands in encouragement before pulling him out of the bedside.

“Have a rest, I’ll come and see you again.” Dr. Prakop said kindly. Phonuma was about to raise her hand to say thank you but the voice of the person in bed got louder.

“Non, don’t leave yet.” This time the eyes of the whole room fell on the injured person again. Especially Thapakorn’s gaze as Lalin’s white hand grabbed Chanonn’s arm, Phonuma was stunned at her son’s expression that seemed to be intimate with Chanonn as she had never known. Chanonn was also baffled, he looked at the white face of the figure on the bed for a moment, only to see a spoiled look at him until he could not refuse. When he glanced at Thapakorn, Lalin’s fiancée, he saw that person staring at him until his spine flashed. Looking at Aunt Phonuma and Uncle Dr. Prakop, the two elders looked at him in disbelief as well.

Chanonn wanted to say that he was puzzled by the way Lalin had shown him too! Lalin has never been this mean to him, never been so stubborn with him, the person who always does this to him is Sawin!

“Uh... Then I’ll leave Lin, Nonn… Dr. Kop? May I talk to you for a moment?” Phonuma entrusted it to Chanonn, then turned to ask the overweight doctor.

“Yes, this way.” Dr. Prakop led her out of the room. Phonuma looked at the two-young people again hard before patting Thapakorn on the shoulder as if encouraging him, then followed Dr. Prakop out.

A few moments later, there were only three lives left in the patient room. This time, the figure in the bed glanced at Thapakorn with eyes that both Thapakorn and Chanonn knew that it wasn’t the sight Lalin had for the man she was about to marry.

“I wanna talk to Nonn, just the two of us!” and the more short and short the speech became, Chanonn felt like he was sweating in the middle of the air-conditioned room because he was afraid his childhood friend would misunderstand that he would hit do something to steal his fiancé.

However, Thapakorn did not look at him one bit. He still fixed his gaze on the injured person before speaking in a very short tone.

“That’s fine” said that tall figure before walking out of the room when there were only two of them left, the white hand still holding Chanonn’s arm exerted a slight twitching stubbornly.

“Sit down! We need to have a long talk.”

      …

Doctor Chanonn looked at the sick person in bed who told the story with what the hospital adolescents call ‘haunting’: mouth agape, eyes fluttering, speechless, unable to argue. All he could do was listen, listen and listen only.

“Do you understand what I am saying?!! I know the story I’m telling is supernatural. I didn’t think to believe it but because it was born to me!” A fragile woman with a sweet and beautiful face had big round eyes. Slightly stubborn nose and puffy lips that used to call him ‘Phii Nonn’ ‘Phii Nonn’ since Chanonn wasn’t even a doctor, today she’s back up to him and pretends to be Sawin. Warodom, his best friend, who’s a vegetable lying in the ICU!!

The injured man in the bed sighed heavily and raised his hand to shake him like Sawin Warodom’s awkward expression before he blew fire through his mouth again.

“Could you be a little smarter?!! You only use your brain to study medicine!! I’ve had this crazy thing with me and I can even understand it in five seconds!!!” Even though the tone of her voice was Lalin’s, the way she said it, Chanonn confirmed that it wasn’t Lalin for sure!

“Uh... Wait... There used to be cases like this too. It’s kind of like having a traumatic accident and then reviving the character to become a different person…” Chanonn tried to make the story in front of him as scientifically related as he could.

…but as far as I can imagine he never saw any cases where when they wake up, the revive proclaims that he is another person who hasn’t woken up yet!!!

“You don’t believe me, do you, Non!! I said I’m not Lin! But I’m Win!!! ...Sawin!!!” The figure on the bed slammed an irritated voice that seemed to explain with a lot of saliva but the only person who had decided to tell everything to him did not open up.

“But the person here is Lalin!! A woman!! It’s not Sawin, it's a man!! How could you want me to believe it?!!!” Chanonn argued back as he saw it and that stunned the arguments as well.”

... Yes... Chanonn was right... Right now, the person Chanonn saw sitting up and talking was Lalin, not Sawin... Lalin who is a woman, Lalin who has a sweet face, Lalin... She doesn’t look like her older brother, Sawin, who is a tall man. A handsome face that is still unconscious in the ICU...but...but he has to be convinced!! That the person Chanonn sees is Lalin but the real person in Lalin’s body is Sawin!

“Here you go! So, you can be sure that I am Sawin Warodom. I will tell you a secret that no one else besides your parents know!”

“Ah! Tell me.” Chanonn was looking forward to hearing the secrets the person in front of him had to say.

... Even if the woman in front of him says she is Sawin! But he doesn’t believe it! He couldn’t believe that it was Sawin who had transmigrated into his sister’s body! Well, this is real life! Hey, who would believe the nonsense of transferring another person’s soul into another person’s body!! not relocating for work or moving house! ... He still doesn’t believe that it’s Sawin! Maybe it’s because Lalin sees her older brother as an idol, when she gets hurt from an accident her subconscious might make her think she’s an older brother!! Yes!! According to science, it should be like that!!!

“... You have a black birthmark on your left butt cheek.” The figure in the bed decided to use the last card because the people who knew this secret of Chanonn, besides his parents, were only ‘Sawin Warodom’.

“Hoy!!! How did you know?!” Chanonn’s eyes widened in shock.

“Well, I just told you that I am Sawin! I know it because I once pulled on your pants in the third grade!!” The young doctor swallowed his saliva in disbelief.

... It’s not true!! It’s impossible! It’s impossible for Lalin to know this!!! ... but...but if Lalin had no way of knowing about this, how would Lalin’s blunt figure in front of him know!!!

“Do you believe me this time?! When you were in high school, you secretly liked a senior in 5th grade again. There is a story that you skipped chemistry in the 4th grade and went to sleep in the library but the teacher thought that you ran away from school and went to report you to your father. So, you got hit by your father and your father forced you to ride his motorcycle and he brought you to school every morning and...”

“Enough! Enough! Enough!” Chanonn hurriedly raised his hand before his own karma slipped from even more full lips, he fixed his gaze on the sweet face of the girl in the patient robes who took a closer look. A young doctor who is fully in the field of science can clearly see the image of Sawin in those big round eyes.

“... uh... ah... is... is... Win, you are really...” Chanonn asked stubbornly, still unable to believe what he had experienced but... Because the words of the person who claimed to be Sawin had already proved to him. The one who knows the secret of the one who knows his deeds, there are few and of those few. He believes that these stories will never be told to a neat woman like the real Lalin.

“Really! This body is actually Lin’s body but I am Win!” A white hand pointed at himself, clearly reiterating that he was Sawin Warodom.

   “Then...then why are you in Lin’s body…”

“I don’t know, probably related to... Uh... What kind of body-transferring spirit soul! What the heck! I’m even more afraid of ghosts and ghosts, something like this happened to me.” At the end of that sentence, he murmured as if in pain, a confused look on his face and almost afraid to talk about the supernatural.

“Wait...and...and you’re in Lin’s form like this, Lin? Where is Lin?” Chanonn asked quickly. If Sawin was in Lalin’s body, what about Sawin’s body lying in the ICU... Who’s there?

The person in front of him let out a long sigh.

“I don’t know, I realize I’m in Lalin’s body. When I asked my mom if my body had recovered, she said no.”

“Does your mother know about you being in your sister’s body?” Chanonn seemed to feel like he wasn’t sitting with Lalin’s body for a bit, because Sawin’s presence was evident in both his eyes and his words.

“I don’t know, I’m still confused and scared that my mom is worried so I didn’t tell her...how’s my body? Are you awake?” At least if awake, Sawin still has hope that Lalin might be in his body, at least she is alive.

“Not at all, when the rescue group brought you and your sister to the hospital. I didn’t think you'd even survive. If you see the condition of the car, you will be very surprised that he is still in the ICU, not in the vegetative state.” Chanonn went to see the car in the police station. The driver’s side was messed up because Sawin hit the side and crashed into the tree.

“Don’t talk about the soul! I’m afraid of ghosts!” The young doctor gently pushed the injured man’s head affectionately. He had encountered such incredible things, he would still be afraid of ghosts.

“So, what are you going to do next?” Chanonn asked worriedly.

“I don’t know, I’m fresh out of ideas, I don’t know where to start. I… feel lost more than when my father died.” Just as people would imagine that Chanonn’s father was also a doctor, his eyes widened with hopeful glances at his longtime best friend.

“Your Pa, Nonn! If I try to tell this story to your Pa, your Pa might have a traditional Chinese medicine to treat it. Ouch! Why did you hit me in the head!” Before he could finish speaking, Chanonn gave the mahogany as a reward.

“My Pa is a Chinese medicine doctor, not a superstitious doctor playing with spirits.” [1] Thai of Chinese descent call their parents Pa and Ma

“I said don’t talk about ghosts and spirits! You bastard! Tonight, I have to sleep here too. How am I supposed to fall asleep?” The two best friends were wailing at each other as usual, they were silent when the door to the room was opened, the sick man on the bed squinted his eyes at the tall figure who walked in with no sight. friendly

“Why did you come in! I said I’m going to talk to Nonn, the two of us!” Thapakorn looked at the man with a slightly sore mouth before replying in a flat tone.

   “Someone came to visit”

“Who?!” And the people were about to rant but they could only shut up when Thapakorn slightly shifted his toe to see the late visitor of the day.

The deep yellow-orange robe instantly calmed the mood, Chanonn hurriedly got up from his chair and shook his hand in salute.

“Hello Reverend Father.” [1] Thai Buddhism call the priest Lung Po which literally translated into Uncle Father… which serious messes my brain so I used Reverend Father to show religious position importance

“R... Reverend Father…” The figure on the bed sighed softly and waved his hand in a modest salute. The old monk only smiled kindly because he had known these kids for a long time, since Amon Warodom, the father of the two sibling Sawin and Lalin often stopped by to make merit at his forest temple and he often took his stingy eldest son to remind him to not act bad. Sawin was never willing to be insulted alone, he always dragged Chanonn and Thapakorn with him on these temple visits but after his father’s death, Sawin was so busy with his ranch work that he didn’t visit that forest temple again.

“You seem to be in good health, Benefactor Sawin.” the owner of the name suddenly stopped. Even Chanonn and Thapakorn who were in the room heard the pronouns this abbot used to refer to the sick.

... The injured person’s name is Lalin...but he called him Sawin...

“Nonn, get him out first.” Sawin didn’t want anyone to know about this, especially Thapakorn, he quickly turned to order his best friend to take the other man who stood tall in the room, that before Chanonn could do anything, the Reverend Father interrupted. [1] Thai monks address commoners as benefactors… idk I’m not a Buddhist…not even religious person

“No need, Benefactor Thapakorn needs to know.”

“Why does he need to know?!” Sawin shouted so indignantly that Chanonn had to pat on the shoulder for fear his best friend would show bad manners to the priest and cause himself more bad luck than what he was in now.

The old abbot was still as calm as ever, as he used to take this stance against the mischievous Sawin boy.

“He is the one who will help the benefactor and the benefactor’s young sister.”

“I don’t want him to help!”

“If the benefactor refuses, the benefactor must remain in the body of the benefactor’s sister forever, then the benefactor’s body and the benefactor’s younger soul... One month from now... must die.”

“Reverend Father, what does that mean?!” Sawin shouted so loudly that he almost forgot that the body he used belonged to his sister who had just suffered a bruise and a stuttering force. The pain in his body surged out until he had to bend himself.

“Win, calm down.” Chanonn hurriedly suppressed his concern.

“Benefactor Sawin has to choose, whether to let Benefactor Thapakorn help or Benefactor Sawin will stay in the form of the benefactor’s young sister forever.”
