I’ll Still Love You Even if You’re a Man 2, Chapter 5: Mai Ding doesn't need superiority
The two of them were in the middle of a small talk, and Mai Ding didn't even want to say goodbye to the couple, because they started to make out in front of the hotel again, which was unscrupulous, Mai Ding followed An Ziyan into the car, fastened his seatbelt, and drove the car in the direction of home, Mai Ding looked at Zhou Ge in the rear view mirror again, suddenly he stared at the rear view mirror, from inside he saw something that puzzled him, to be sure, he quickly pressed the car window to look back. The car beside it whistled by and An Ziyan grabbed Mai Ding by the back collar and dragged him back.
"You don't want your head on top of you anymore?"
"I just seemed to see my colleague earlier and wanted to make sure." Mai Ding frowned lightly as he pondered, was that Gao Guo just now? The woman next to him looked a few times familiar, could it be that he had misread himself, An Ziyan nudged Mai Ding's head, "No thinking of others." He didn't like Mai Ding being with himself and pretending to have someone else in his head.
"Just coworkers." Mai Ding explained.
"Much less so."
"Wasn't it agreed to trust each other? You have to have faith in me on that one."
"What's that got to do with anything, you're at work most of the time now, then all the time after work is mine, do you understand?" An Ziyan's tone was one of no-nonsense.
"It's just that you're too possessive after all."
"Do you got it?" He just repeated the question, and Mai Ding's mouth was reluctant: "Got it!" He was unwilling in his heart.
Next is the weekend, Mai Ding, who wanted to take a good rest, received a temporary notice from Sister Hua that she was working overtime. Mai Ding's mood is affected by the fact that no one is happy working overtime on Sundays, and the holiday that students have been waiting for is cancelled. Mai Ding wanted to ask Gao Guo if he saw him that night, but he was worried that he probably didn't want people to know about his private life with his girlfriend, and as usual, Gao Guo didn't want to talk to him after explaining the matter to him. After telling him what he did not want to take care of him, Mai Ding was not brave enough to ask.
It was probably because everyone wanted to get things done as soon as possible and go home early, the work ended faster than expected. Mai Ding, who was about to go home, was mysteriously pulled by Sister Hua, and she seems to have just come from the gossiping with another colleagues. Hearing any gossip, he can’t wait to find someone to continue spreading. Sister Hua looked around and after making sure the manager was not there, she whispered to Mai Ding, "I heard that the manager's wife has a man outside."
Mai Ding is not interested in gossip, but his mind somehow flashes back to that night when Gao Guo was with his girlfriend, and the woman face was blocked by Gao Guo and Mai Ding did not see it.
"Probably someone else messed it up."
"There's no telling this is true." Sister Hua's mouth couldn't retract and continued to chatter, Mai Ding stole a glance at Gao Guo who was beside them, Gao Guo packed up his things and left as if it was none of his business, Mai Ding blamed himself for thinking too much.
It was hard to get rid of Sister Hua and Mai Ding returned home. The house was quiet, there was no TV sound or piano sound, didn't An Ziyan get up? Or has he gone out? He eased his footsteps and walked in, surprisingly seeing the incredible scene, An Ziyan sitting on a stool in front of the piano, the stool raised on its front legs, An Ziyan propping the ground with one foot and gently shaking the stool, book in his left hand and pen in his right. Sunlight was let in unobstructed by the clear windows, and An Ziyan along with the piano blended into the half-bright, half-y-in shadow picture. The pen was spinning between his fingers, and the expression on his face between seriousness and laziness was always what Mai Ding loved, the expression with which he sometimes played the piano, and the expression with which he sometimes looked at himself.
Putting the heartbeat aside first, what a rarity that An Ziyan was actually learning. In Mai Ding's eyes, he is a person who doesn't like to study, is often late, does things casually, and is far away from a good student, not to mention that he doesn't need to study even if his performance is bad and his grades are good. It seemed that An Ziyan had been borrowing books from the library a lot lately, and Mai Ding didn't think much of it, thinking it was something he usually read that had nothing to do with studying.
"What are you, you, you, you stimulated by?" Mai Ding still didn't stifle his inquiry, and An Ziyan didn't react much: "Reading the book." Mai Ding walked over and crooked his head to look at the cover, "That's not like a book you'd usually read."
An Ziyan shrugged his shoulders and said absentmindedly, "The company I'm applying for only recruits graduates, the interviews are tough, so better prepare ahead of time before you graduate."
"Why? Aren't you going to rely on Mom and Dad? Aren't you going to be a gnawing old man?" Only to hear this message Mai Ding shocked that he often unconscious say more terrible heard than deliberately said, mostly by An Ziyan monasteries words. Mai Ding just thought that An Ziyan should have planned in advance, so he didn't even consider the off-campus internship. If he didn’t come home early, he wouldn't find out. He said unhappy: "Why keep something so important from me?" he said unhappily.
"Because I want to surprise you." His tone is not as thoughtful as his words, but will Mai Ding be moved? He hid it from himself only because it was a surprise to him when he graduated and entered the company. He'd be a fool to be moved!
"You're purely afraid of me nagging and asking questions, don't bother!" That's the truth, absolutely!
"That's certainly a small part of it."
"I think that's the only reason!"
The demolished An Ziyan looked up, "So what if it is?" He really couldn't do anything about Mai Ding, who was so angry that he couldn't say anything.
"It's a big company isn't it, you must be able to get in, what about the sense of superiority I've just built up? Hateful guy." Mai Ding knew that if An Ziyan wanted to enter a major company, he would definitely be able to enter, and he originally thought he will go to his parents' company and take advantage of it to ridicule him. Mai Ding wanted to think this so, but it was hard to hide his happiness and now couldn’t help worrying. What should An Ziyan do when he went to another company? Will he be killed by his boss? Will the entire company be killed by An Ziyan?
An Ziyan closed the book and stood up, placing the pen in his hand behind Mai Ding's ear as the words interrupted Mai Ding's horrible fantasies, "What superiority you want, you want me to be satisfied in this life."
"My ambition is satisfied by the little white ace?"
"Little white face? It's a short-term job worker at best."
"Not even as a permanent worker!"
