Love is More than a Word, Chapter 67: New enemy, Old Regret (4)...
In the same room, Gu-She was different.
The plants are trimmed, the bed is covered with brand new ones. The incense burner was on the coffee table, wafting its aroma.
Gu-She sat down at the table and leisurely poured two cups of tea.
If it wasn't for the bandage on his arm, Tao Mo almost thought they hadn't left Tangyang, Gu-She invited him to play chess as usual and he came as usual.
“You have something on your mind?” Gu-She pushed one of the glasses to the other side of the table.
Tao Mo hesitated and finally sat down at the table. ”No.”
Gu-She: “Lying.”
Tao Mo was tongue-tied. In front of Gu-She, he was always invisible. Lao Tao's words became a knot in his heart. Even though he convinced himself that Gu-She was Gu-She and Gu-She's father was Gu-She's father, every time he looked for an excuse to escape, the image of his father dying with hatred appeared before his eyes, calling him.
“What did Lao Tao say to you?” Gu-She's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. Tao Mo's reaction was slightly unexpected.
Tao Mo looked up in dismay, “How did you know...”
Gu-She said, “It is something to do with me?”
Tao Mo scrambled his eyes away, not daring to look him in the eye.
Gu-She said, “Because I'm Gu Xianzhi?"
Tao Mo was stunned but he didn't know what he meant.
Gu-She eased up and said, “You don't have to call me Young Master Gu, call me Xianzhi."
Tao Mo's heart jumped uncontrollably. He said, “My name is Wenwu." He had never felt so ridiculous as to call himself Wenwu when it wasn't the same character.
Gu-She was unconcerned, whispering, “Wenwu."
Tao Mo blushes, looks down at the teacup, “Xianzhi."
“It's not unusual for friends to call each other by our first names.” Gu-She said carelessly, “We should be friends, right?”
“Since, of course.” Tao Mo was overwhelmed with excitement. When they first met at the Mingchui House, he was like a star gazing at the moon, standing proudly in the crowd, while he was in the shadows, invisible, like the bright moon and fluorescent light, so different from each other, how could we have ever imagined that we would meet today for a cup of tea and make friends?
Gu-She faintly said, “Yes...”
The” yes" echoed the” lie" before it and it poured cold water over Tao Mo's body. His hand gripped the cup tightly and the water in the cup shook.
Gu-She lowered his eyelids and slowly got up.
Tao Mo's heart tightened, and he blurted out, “Your father...”
Gu-She moved slightly and without moving asked, “What about my father?”
Tao Mo's throat felt like it was stuck and it took half a day before he said, “If your father knew you were hurt, he would be very worried.”
Gu-She swept his gaze over his face, “Is that what you're going to say to me?”
Tao Mo's head felt like it weighed a thousand pounds, wanting to point it down but afraid that it would never get up again.
“I haven't spoken to my father in a long time.” Gu-She said slowly, “Whether I'm hurt or not, whether he knows or not, is irrelevant.”
Tao Mo listened in stunned silence.
Gu-She said, “You are my friend, that's all.” He wanted to say, don't worry about others but thinking of Lao Tao and Yiyu, he was moved and finally stopped.
That's it?
Could it be that he and he were just friends and being just friends, they didn't have to worry about each other's families, or even about their parents?
Tao Mo was filled with mixed emotions. He can't tell if he is happy or sad.
He did not know how he got out of the room, or how he got back in but he saw the bed and fell down.
Don't know how long he slept but Hao Guozi's voice rattled around his head like a mosquito.
His eyelids weighed a thousand pounds and he took a long time to open them.
“Young Master!” Hao Guozi looked worried and put his hand on his forehead, “Your forehead is so hot.”
Tao Mo blinked, wondering what he meant and then Hao Guozi jumped up and ran out.
He was alone in the room again.
Tao Mo turned on his side, rested his hands under his neck and realized that he was incredibly hot.
Are you sick?
He propped himself on his elbows uneasily.
“What are you doing up?” Lao Tao pushed open the door, strode in, stalked over to the bed, touched his forehead, “It's really burning.”
Tao Mo whispered, “I'm fine.”
“Lie down first.” Lao Tao pushed him by the shoulders and made him lie down.
Tao Mo was already too strong for him and he's sick. He had to lie down.
Lao Tao tucked him in.
Tao Mo snuck a glance at him, “Today, Gu-She asked me...”
“All right.” Lao Tao cut him off, “you don't have to think about anything, just rest and recuperate.”
Tao Mo didn't know what to say, so when he said that, he just went downhill and shut up.
Lao Tao sat on the edge of his bed, looking at him worriedly.
In a trance, Lao Tao's face overlapped with Master Tao's. He remembered when he was young, when he was sick, his father sat by his bedside and took care of him like this. I remember that when he was young and sick, his father sat by his bedside and took care of him in the same way. When he was young, his father never remarried and until the age of six, his father took care of his food, clothing, housing and transportation. It was only when his business grew so large that he had to leave it to someone else. Even so, his father never neglected him and never asked any questions.
Tears fell from Tao Mo's eyes at the thought of the past.
Lao Tao frowned, “Is it hard? Just bear with me, Hao Guozi will be back soon.”
“Hmm.” Tao Mo promised with a thick nasal sound.
There were two taps on the door.
Lao Tao asked, “Who?”
“Gu-She."
Lao Tao gave Tao Mo a hesitant glance, then said the words, “Come in.”
The door slides open and Gu-She's elegant figure appears in Tao Mo's vague vision.
“I'm sick.” Tao Mo whispered, “Don't come near, lest you catch it.”
Gu-She swept his eyes towards Lao Tao.
Lao Tao said, “I'm a martial arts practitioner, so naturally my body is much better than the average person.”
Gu-She approached slowly, saying quietly, “I'm still young.”
Lao Tao: “...”
Gu-She walked to the bed, looked down at Tao Mo, reached out and pressed his hand on Tao Mo's forehead.
Tao Mo's red face burned even more. Hao Guozi and Lao Tao have both touched his forehead but not Gu-She, who made him blush and jump like this.
Gu-She turned to hold his wrist.
Tao Mo cringes but it's still held down.
It's the pulse. Tao Mo doesn't know where his disappointment is coming from.
Lao Tao watched Gu-She chant and let go of his wrist, saying, “How?”
“Weak, thoughtful.” Gu-She frowned, “and needs rest.”
Lao Tao: “How do you recuperate?”
Gu-She said, “My first to call a doctor, I have to be deliberate.”
“First time?” Lao Tao thought about it. Yes, as a person like Gu-She, she wouldn't take the initiative to take a pulse for others.
After a while, Hao Guozi and Gu Xiaojia asked the doctor to come in.
As soon as the doctor saw them, he was startled and said, “Why you again?”
Lao Tao wondered, “Again?”
Gu-She said, “I need to change my wounds.”
The doctor said, “I'll change it for you later. He went to Tao Mo's bed, lowered his head, took his pulse, let go of his hand for a moment and said to Hao Guozi: “You grind the ink for me and I'll write the prescription.”
Hao Guozi responded in a low voice, took out the doctor's four treasures of writing and sharpened the ink without uttering a word.
The doctor was in a hurry and without waiting for him to even take out the ink, he snatched the pen and wrote the words on the paper.
After he finished the prescription, Hao Guozi was about to pick it up but Gu Xiaojia snatched it up on the way.
Hao Guozi was startled, “What are you doing?”
Gu Xiaojia handed the prescription to Gu-She, “Young Master.” From the moment he saw that Gu-She was interested in the prescription, it was a good time to redeem himself, how could he screw it?
Gu-She swept a glance, nodded his head.
Only then did Gu Xiaojia give the recipe to Hao Guozi.
Hao Guozi grunted, “somehow.” He drew back the prescription and turned to grab the medicine.
So the doctor changed Gu-She's medicine.
Tao Mo suddenly said to Gu Xiaojia, “Has the litigation master arrived yet?”
Gu Xiaojia's mouth dropped open, he looked at Gu-She cautiously and shook his head.
“Why?” Tao Mo was in a hurry and tried to sit up. Lao Tao held him down.
Gu Xiaojia said: “I don't know. They say it's Mr. Yichui's idea.”
“Mr. Yichui?" Tao Mo's heart went cold. If Mr. Yichui isn't willing to help, it's like half of Tangyang County's litigation masters just standing by.
“And Lin Zhengyong, isn't it?” Gu-She said it all.
